LDi Declares Support for Chinese Relief Efforts

LDi strongly supports Chinese government earthquake relief effortsBeijing, Peoples Republic of China (May 27, 2008) – Leadership Development International (LDi) reiterated today the organization’s deep sympathy for the families of the victims of the recent earthquake disaster. LDi is thankful to have been able to help in the short-term with relief efforts for those families suffering from the earthquake, but remains committed to the long-term rebuilding work that lies ahead.
LDi has established the China Crisis Response and Relief (CCRR) internal initiative. Project Manager John Kierspe states: “LDi is engaged in near-term disaster recovery efforts, including but not limited to, supplying daily essentials to earthquake victims, comforting the despairing, establishing relationships with local government officials to build “tent schools”, mobilizing teachers, and providing administrative and program support to help rebuild the educational infrastructure. Mid-term recovery efforts may include funding the construction of school buildings, supplying teaching staff, and training teachers.”
