May 5, 2010

Joan Kitterman

LDi is pleased to announce the selection of Joan Kitterman (pronounced as Joe-Ann) as our new Director of Human Resources in China.  She will reside in Beijing and work out of the LDi BJ corporate office.

Joan received BS (1973) and MA-E (1976) degrees in Elementary Education from Ball State University, and a EdD (1984) in Special Education, Reading Education, and English as a Foreign Language also from Ball State University.

Her professional career has spanned 30+ years in the areas of education and cross-cultural work.  Much of her career has been spent in various positions around the world with a large, international organization, including time spent teaching at an international school in Taiwan and a Seminary in South Korea as well as multiple teacher training assignments in various countries in Asia.

In addition to classroom teaching roles, Joan has held faculty positions at multiple universities in the US, including Chair of the Department of Education and Director of Teacher Education at Taylor University, and Dean of Graduate Education at Georgetown College.

Most recently and maybe best of all for LDi, Joan has utilized her experiences, talents, and passions in supporting those in cross-cultural work.

Joan has a passionate love for the Father and shares the mission and vision of LDi.  She has devoted her career to cross-cultural work and has spent several years living and serving in Asia, equipping her with first-hand knowledge of the joys and struggles of life abroad.  Her extensive experience and knowledge in the field of Education, coupled with her more recent experience in the area of human resources have prepared her well for her new role.  Joan is a true provision for this key position.  She is excited about the opportunity to serve LDi in this capacity and we too are excited to welcome her as a member of our team.
